The multi-million dollar redevelopment of the Energex Greenslopes site is now home to a new 5000m², multi-level office complex, refurbished warehouse, extensive site mprovements, new truck wash bays and streetscape beautification. The new workspace will be home to more than 200 Energex field, design and project staff from the existing depot and other Brisbane locations. The new site increases light vehicle parking to 130, and caters for nearly 80 response vehicles and working seamlessly with the refurbished 3000m² warehouse.
Community engagement and liaison has been an important component managed by our team from award. Peaking community interest well before Alder Constructions was involved, the team has maintained consistent communication through community newsletters, notices of upcoming works and changes to local conditions affecting the public. The team have proactively navigated some challenging scenarios with overall community sentiment positive.
This project also experienced a challenging start to life with ground remediation exceeding what was originally anticipated. The team worked diligently with Octief, Energy Queensland and Ranbury over the project lifespan to remediate the site and safely commence construction works. The systematic and staged approach to remediation works, meant our team could mitigate the impact to the commencement of the building works.
Overall the unique design of this complex sees multiple office spaces over split levels, some even ‘below ground’ and separated by mid-level carpark. The internal features combine lengthening voids, natural colour palette and intelligent, ergonomic and collaborative design. Following the aesthetics of Energex Stafford Depot, the look and feel will become synonymous with the Energy
Queensland brand.
