Transformation and upgrade of an existing automotive showroom and service facility into a modern, combined Nissan and JAC showroom.
Project value has been adjusted to reflect approximate current-day value as at 2025, based upon industry recognised construction indexation published by Rawlinson.
Delivered the refurbishment and expansion of an operating automotive dealership across two active work fronts, combining extensive building upgrades with ongoing business continuity requirements.
During construction, Alder completed a structural redesign that removed the need for a new formed concrete stair and retained elements of the existing structure. This approach provided efficiencies for the client while reducing the extent of structural works required.
Re-roofing works and major building upgrades were carefully staged and sequenced to accommodate ongoing dealership operations. The delivery strategy enabled construction activities to progress while supporting business-as-usual requirements.
Alder facilitated workshops to support the redesign process and coordinate client-supplied equipment and materials. This collaborative approach assisted in maintaining programme requirements and minimising disruption to operations.
The project team addressed several unforeseen site conditions, including non-compliant steel supports and columns, flooring and plastering issues, and delays associated with manufacturer-supplied equipment. Open communication and proactive coordination enabled these challenges to be effectively managed throughout delivery.
Despite the logistical challenges of working within an operational dealership and managing multiple concurrent work fronts, the project reached completion ahead of schedule while maintaining the required quality and compliance outcomes.
Transformation and upgrade of an existing automotive showroom and service facility into a modern, combined Nissan and JAC showroom. Delivered across two concurrent work fronts, Alder managed demolition, structural works and refurbishment activities to maintain business continuity while progressing the upgrade within a live operational environment.
The works included the construction of a new glazed façade, cladding, signage and a complete re‑roofing system, alongside the reconfiguration of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical services. Internally, the space was fully re‑imagined to incorporate a new reception area, customer lounge, consultation and registration offices, showroom floors, staff amenities and an enclosed vehicle delivery area, creating a cohesive and customer‑focused environment.
