Project Highlights

A state-of-the-art integrated childcare facility spanning more than 13,000m² was delivered adjacent to Heritage Bank Stadium, incorporating specialised learning, play and support spaces for children with diverse developmental needs.

Landmark Entrance

A 12-metre-high, 9-tonne AFL football was constructed as the facility's signature entrance feature, using prefabricated aluminium components assembled onsite.

Bespoke Play Spaces

Construction of a 70-metre flowing creek, a 60m² timber bird aviary, a miniature AFL field and a tennis court.

Timber Play Equipment

Extensive timber play equipment was installed throughout the facility, including slides and a functioning windmill.

Floodplain Design

The building was designed with an undercroft flood storage system that underwent rigorous testing during the early stages of construction due to the site's floodplain location.

Custom Glazing

Twenty-one coloured glazed circular windows of varying sizes were specially manufactured interstate for the project.

Colourful Podium

More than 1,300m² of external podium surfaces were finished with a combination of colours, patterns and swirls.

Mature Tree Installation

Five fig trees were installed by crane, extending through openings in the suspended external podium slab.

Extensive Landscaping

Thousands of plants, trees and bamboo varieties were planted across the site to provide natural shade and complement the outdoor environments.

The state-of-the-art facility spans over 13,000 square meters and incorporates 13 classrooms, staff amenities, a library, an auditorium, a commercial kitchen, and bespoke play areas designed to cater to children’s developmental and additional support needs.

The outdoor play areas prioritise sensory and inclusive play, featuring extensive landscaping, soft play and water play areas, as well as a replica AFL field. The comprehensive scope of works involves bulk earthworks, retaining walls, multi-level building construction, bio retention basin, external car park, and playground facilities.
