Project value has been adjusted to reflect approximate current-day value as at 2025, based upon industry recognised construction indexation published by Rawlinson.

With the venue experiencing increased patronage and demand for modern facilities, the project revitalised the club’s infrastructure to enhance race day and event experiences.

Works included the demolition of outdated grandstands, rooftop seating, and amenities, followed by the extension and enclosure of the existing grandstands to create larger indoor viewing areas, seating zones, and bars. The upgrade also introduced four escalators and two lifts to improve accessibility across new levels. Alder refurbished the members’ bar areas and Skyline Restaurant, and constructed a new Gallery Restaurant, champagne bar, production kitchen, and integrated TAB and live TV facilities.

Ten new corporate entertainment suites were built with operable walls for flexible group configurations, and a wireless audio-visual system was installed throughout. Delivered in three carefully staged phases, the project allowed early access for staff and ensured the facility was unveiled in time for Melbourne Cup Day.
