Alder completed a comprehensive upgrade to Charlie Buckler Sports Field, enhancing sporting facilities, site functionality and the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians across the precinct.
Project value has been adjusted to reflect approximate current-day value as at 2025, based upon industry recognised construction indexation published by Rawlinson.
Delivered across three stages in a live sporting environment, the project upgraded key community facilities while maintaining access for local sporting clubs.
Demolition of existing 210m² clubhouse, including asbestos removal, and construction of a modern 800m² facility, including a covered social area, kitchen, amenities, change rooms and covered walkways to better support club members and visitors.
A new 150m² groundskeeper store was constructed alongside upgrades to the sporting fields, including raising the existing cricket pitch, installing 3,500m² of turf surrounds and constructing 230m² of cricket practice nets with synthetic turf surfacing and chain-wire netting.
Alder delivered 160 linear metres of stormwater infrastructure, sewer pump systems, manholes and potable and rainwater reticulation.
The project included the installation of 1,700 linear metres of irrigation pipework servicing the sports fields. The system incorporated a Rain Bird controller and rainwater harvesting infrastructure to support efficient field maintenance.
More than 1,200 linear metres of concrete footpaths, kerb ramps and rest areas were constructed throughout the site.
The redevelopment included approximately 2,000m² of new car parking and roadway infrastructure, incorporating unbound pavements, asphalt surfacing, line marking and signage.
More than 600m² of landscaping was installed, including planting, mulching and concrete edging. The precinct was further enhanced with shade structures, seating, drinking fountains, bin enclosures, tiered concrete seating and dog agility equipment.
Electrical works included reticulation throughout the precinct, installation of 11 new car park lighting poles, NBN connectivity and power supply upgrades to the new clubhouse. These improvements enhanced safety, functionality and usability across the site.

A separate groundskeeper store was also delivered, supported by new irrigation systems extending over 1,700 linear metres, stormwater and sewer infrastructure, and more than 1,200 linear metres of concrete footpaths and access works.
Further upgrades included construction of car parking and roadworks, installation of turf, new cricket practice facilities and extensive landscaping works.
