The Oceanview Track at Burleigh Head National Park attracts more than 700,000 visitors annually, making it a vital link in the park’s network. This reconstruction project aimed to improve safety, accessibility, and the overall visitor experience.
The works included removing 1.4 kilometres of aging asphalt pathway and replacing it with a wider coloured concrete track. New stair access points, a viewing platform with seating, and timber fencing were added, alongside over 150m² of rock gabion retaining walls for stability. The team also installed interpretive signage, relocated access gates, and completed minor slope stabilisation—all within a highly constrained environment that required careful pedestrian management.
Alder delivered the upgrade ensuring the park remained open and welcoming throughout construction while creating a track that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings.
