Each reservoir stood 8 metres high and 25 metres in diameter, connected to the existing facility via an underground pipe network. This upgrade created a critical link to the new 27km pipeline and the SEQ Water Grid, ensuring additional storage capacity and reliability.
Key works included sewer reticulation upgrades, access road improvements, and installation of in-ground and above-ground stormwater systems. Potable water pipelines with actuated valves were integrated alongside reinforced concrete reservoir construction, steel access stairways, platforms, and walkways. Water quality monitoring systems were installed, and commissioning was carefully staged to maintain uninterrupted service throughout the project.
The upgrade also allowed for future connections to Wyaralong Water Treatment Plant, providing long-term resilience for the region’s water infrastructure.
